Speedtest.net Mobile is the mobile version of Ookla's popular online Internet speed test tool. Speedtest.net Mobile can provide a variety of different statistics to test the speed of your Internet connection and help diagnose slow internet or connection issues. With servers all over the world, you can easily test your connection to not only nearby Internet servers but also to far away countries.

Just like in the browser-based speed test for desktop, the Speedtest.net Mobile app allows you to choose from a list of servers which you want to test your connection to, including nearby servers and servers in virtually every country. Once you have selected your server, simply click the large "Begin Test" button and watch the app as it runs various tests on your connection. The app will first test your ping time, which is a measure of the responsiveness of your connection. Having a low ping time is essential to effective Internet gaming, video-conferencing, and VoIP and telephony applications. Next, the app will test your download and upload speed--both essential factors to the responsiveness, lag, and waiting time of your Internet connection.

Speedtest.net Mobile saves your previous test results, allowing you to see if factors you have changed have made any improvements to your connection quality and speed. • The ping response time always seems much higher in the app than when measured in a standard terminal ping test.
• The app does not provide more detailed statistics, like traceroute hops.
• Since the mobile app can only connect over WiFi and not a wired connection, this may affect download speeds or ping response time.
